MOLINE, Ill.--Western Illinois University has announced a new agreement with Black Hawk College which will allow students to earn a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and justice administration from WIU after starting their degree at the community college.Students will complete an associate of science in law enforcement from Black Hawk College after their first two years, and then complete their junior and senior years at Western. Those following this academic path are able to complete their bachelor's degrees within four years.
For the Western portion of the degree, students would be able to take classes at either the Macomb or Quad Cities campuses.
According to WIU Director of Admissions Andy Borst, "Black Hawk College is WIU's largest feeder school for transfer students and LEJA is the largest academic program for new transfer students." He noted that WIU will be emphasizing new partnerships with community colleges across the state in order to create a seamless transfer process from two year institutions.
